Overview of Geography
There are three wind turbine nacelle assembly manufacturers in the U.S., located in Florida, Kansas and Colorado (Figure SC.1). For more discussion on the role geography plays in the wind turbine manufacturing industry, please see the “Wind Turbine Manufacturing” step.

According to the DOE report, more than 90 percent of nacelle assembly are performed domestically; however, majority of the components internal to the nacelle are manufacture red overseas. Table SC.1 to Table SC.3 list the few manufacturers of wind turbine generator, gearbox and composite housing in the U.S.
